I had to work to work late tonight so I really didn't feel like any fancy cooking. I also wasn't in the mood for leftovers so I had to come up with something simple and filling. Aha! A burger! I'll bet you are waiting for some secret, make your burger better tips aren't you? Not this time. I pulled out the cast iron skillet (if you don't have one, get one! Lodge is the best.) and tossed in some butter. When the butter melted, I put the patty in and put a little butter on top along with a sprinkle of salt and pepper. I covered the skillet, put the heat on medium and walked away.
I pulled half a loaf of french bread out that was leftover from the french toast I was feenin for last Sunday and cut off a couple of thick slices. I put butter on the bread and sprinkled the slices with a little garlic powder. After I flipped my burger, the bread went into the broiler.
By the time the bread was toasted, the burger was done. Notice that I took the time to shape my burger exactly like my bread. I don't know about you, but I hate biting into a burger and getting nothing but bread.
The burger was topped with a couple of squeezes of Ketchupeno. It's jalapeno flavored Ketchup that I got from my friend Bill over at BBQ-Brethren.com.
I really am interested in what you think so please register and leave comments or ask cooking questions after the posts!
